COVID-19 POLICY
In response to the exceptionally high number of COVID cases in Calgary and to remain in accordance with the guidelines set forth by our governing veterinary bodies, we will continue implementing our locked door policy. Please, rest assured that while following these recommendations, we will continue to remain fully operational and provide important routine and urgent veterinary care for your pets.
1) Clients will not be permitted into the practice building
- All consultations will be done over the phone with a veterinarian.
- We ask that all clients who have an appointment with their pet, please call or text when you arrive. A staff member will meet you at your vehicle to retrieve your pet and collect a very brief history. The doctor will examine your pet and then call you on the mobile number you have provided to discuss your pet's health and any recommended treatments. You will then be transferred to the reception staff to complete payment. A staff member when meet you at your vehicle with your pet, receipt of payment, and any additional items (ex: food, medications, etc).
- We kindly ask that while we examine your pet in our treatment area, that you wait in your vehicle or at a nearby location and have your mobile phone available for us to contact you.
- If you wish to drop-off your pet for a period of time that exceeds their 15 or 30 minute appointment slot, please inform the staff and we will do our best to accommodate.
2) All payments, whenever possible, should be done over the phone by credit card.
- We will no longer be accepting cash payment - if this poses a concern for any client please do not hesitate to contact the clinic by phone to discuss further.
3) For over the counter sales (food, other) and prescriptions - please call or text ahead of time to place your request. We will take payment over the phone and prepare your order. When you arrive at the clinic to retrieve your items please call or text and we will meet you at the door with everything you need.
4) Surgical and dental procedures - We will continue to perform all surgical and dental procedures as usual. Discharge information will be provided over the phone and we will continue to provide written homecare instructions upon pick-up.
5) Please ensure cats are safely restrained in a carrier, and dogs are on a leash when arriving for your appointment. If you do not have a carrier or leash then please inform the staff when you call upon arrival, and we will provide one for you.
As a final word, your pet's health is extremely important to us. Despite the current limitations, we will strive to provide the best veterinary care possible for all clients and their beloved pets. We will continue to keep you informed on policy changes as they occur.
